The meticulous planning and flawless execution of the event showcased Jaela's organizational excellent abilities. Witnessing her transformative idea manifest into a successful reality was truly inspiring as it is important to have passionate student leaders on campus. Deron Maina epitomizes the essence of looking out for others' best interests. With a wealth of knowledge and experience as a learning assistant and chair of student affairs, I've seen him tirelessly advocate for and safeguard students' welfare. His greatest strength lies in his attentive listening skills. In moments of tension, his composed demeanor and congenial personality foster clarity and mutual understanding in moments where tensions are high. Jaela and Deron are the people who I want to see lead this university into the next generation. I have personally experienced working with them through various organizations and programs and both of these individuals are top caliber players. I believe their vision putting with intentions of the students first so they are recognized and seen would breed a more diverse and complex student body but this environment individuals would be able to learn from one another gaining cross cutting skills and intrapersonal skills

I have known Deron for the better part of two years now and from the time I’ve known him all I can think to say of him is that not only is he an amazing individual, but he has done amazing things for both his campus and his community throughout his various involvements. He is an excellent student and leader in the classroom, and most importantly he is an excellent leader on this campus as well. He has never had anything but kind words to be spoken and always makes a constant effort to motivate and brighten the days of his fellow classmates and friends. I am both happy and proud to call Deron a great friend of mine and cannot wait to see all the great things he accomplishes even further than what he already has.

Deron is a very diligent and hard working individual. While running for Mr.Kuamka, he was able to make time on the weekends to help me film a video for the UC African Student Association. Despite his incredibly busy schedule, he would always keep his word and be punctual when I needed him for filming.

Jaela is awesome, and very consistent and always keeping a positive attitude. I was in her Kuamka cohort when she one Ms. Kuamka in 2023, and she is very impressive. She would be a great president. My boy Deron is an inspiring fellow. His amiable nature is infectious and he makes you want to be a better person. He also preserves and has grit to get the hard things done. Jaela and Deron as President and Vice president have what it takes to unite this vast campus.

Deron is a very patient and understanding person. Deron, who I know is a pre-med student, has a very hectic schedule and is involved with many aspects of the university. While being very busy, Deron has never failed to slow things down when dealing with me. I have greatly appreciate his time and patience when interacting with me.
